Jordan Peterson

Professor Jordan Peterson has posted a must-see video in which he starkly warns Canadians about the dangers inherent in Bill 67, the Racial Equity in the Education System Act. He also assembled in a second video a panel of guests including David Haskell, Bruce Pardy and Barbara Kay, to discuss the topic further.

Bill 67 received nearly unanimous support in its second reading in the Ontario legislature earlier this month.

Peterson calls Bill 67 "the most pernicious and dangerous piece of legislation that any Canadian government has ever put forward," because it will subvert the entire Ontario education system to radical leftist doctrines, and because it is based on the idea that all our institutions are racist, sexist, and discriminatory by nature.

As Peterson explains, the “critical race theory” that informs Bill 67 views history as an ongoing war between identity groups, dismissing the idea of the free and sovereign individual.

This means that under Bill 67, no staff or student in any educational institution can be seen as anything but a member of a particular race, sex, or gender, or sexual orientation.

Furthermore, critical race theorists reject the presumption of individual innocence, believing that if a person belongs to a racial group regarded as exploitative, that person is guilty of anything any member of that racial group has ever done.

Likewise, those who belong to a race regarded as submissive and exploited can never be judged on their individual merits.  They must always be viewed as victims who could never succeed without bureaucratic assistance. 

Peterson warns:

“Bill 67 will mandate the creation of institutions of inquisition in every educational institution, to which anyone who has an opinion or undertakes an action that is perceived to violate the tenets of critical race theory will be made necessarily subject to punishment.”

The fact that the Ontario Progressive Conservative government allowed Bill 67 to be forward by an NDP MPP, and then voted in support of it, indicates the complete inability of that supposedly “conservative” government to see the dangers of this legislation.

Who's fighting this law?

Perhaps the most disturbing aspect of the Bill 67 story is that this corrosive approach to education was fully supported by all the major parties, including the ruling Progressive Conservatives!

Only Belinda Karahalios of the New Blue Party voted against it. 

Rick Nicholls of the Ontario Party voted in favour of Bill 67.  We were as shocked as you are, but we note that he has since publicly expressed his regret at not fully understanding the issue, and has vowed to oppose it from now on. 

We now have only two Ontario MPPs opposed to this impending tragedy. 

We need more!

Jordan Peterson sees Bill 67 as so dangerous not only because it will degrade the educational integrity in Ontario for decades to come, but because if it passes, the rest of Canadian provinces will follow suit with their own versions of the bill.

The explicitly racist ideology inherent in Bill 67 will punish and divide all students while fomenting hate and resentment among them. 

As Peterson concludes,

“Wake up, Canadians, before you do yourself and your children irreparable harm!”

Two MPPs oppose Bill 67, but we need more to join before Bill 67 is voted on again!
