Reason and sanity are prevailing in the gender identity conflict

Conrad Black has published a National Post column that will be a welcome read to all of us who are hoping for a retreat of radical gender theory and a return to sanity.

Black focuses on the J.K. Rowling controversy in arguing that cracks are appearing in the militant gender onslaught, and that the pushback against it has begun to make real progress.

Rowling, author of the phenomenally successful Harry Potter series, and other novels, found herself mired in the gender wars beginning in late 2019, when she publicly supported Maya Forstater, who had been fired from her job for stating that sex is real, and that a man cannot change into a woman.

Rowling was immediately targeted by the radicals, labelled a “transphobe”, and attacked by the progressive media.

As the campaign to have Rowling “cancelled” gathered speed, joined by many of the actors whose careers were made by appearing in the Harry Potter movie series, the author calmly stuck to her guns, warning that women’s rights would disappear if the notion that sex isn’t real is allowed to take hold, and that radical “trans” activism seeks to erode women as a biological and political class.

Despite death threats, Rowling kept on vigorously asserting reasonable arguments rooted in concern for girls and women, and even for “trans” people themselves, for whom “erasing the concept of sex robs the ability to meaningfully discuss their lives”.

As Black notes, the tide has begun to turn, and Rowling’s reasonable view is prevailing, gaining support among writers and culture leaders of all stripes.

There is no doubt that J.K. Rowling’s bravery has been fundamental in this significant cultural shift that is just beginning, but she could never have done it alone.

The Tavistock Centre, Britain’s leading gender identity clinic for children and young people, had been using the “gender affirmation only” approach to shepherd countless vulnerable children down the irreversible path of hormone treatment and mutilating surgery.

Thanks to a legal challenge by a former patient, Keira Bell, and a report by Dr. Hilary Cass, Tavistock’s life-ruining practices were exposed, and the clinic shut down in August, 2022.

The gender ideology onslaught is relentless, but challenging it works.

As J.K. Rowling replied to those she challenged, “It isn’t hate to speak the truth”.

ACTION ITEM

Right now in Ontario, we need to keep this cultural shift for a return to sanity going by taking action to stop Bill 42, ‘The Gender Affirming Health Care Advisory Act’.

If this dangerous Bill is passed in the Ontario legislature, it will make it even easier for children to start the process to change their genders, without consent of their parents!

The Bill provides a list of who should be consulted for advice, and parents are not on the list!

Please add your name, and invite friends and family to do the same, to PAFE’s petition to STOP BILL 42:

    Hi,
I’m so glad I found this group. I have been looking for people who are trying their damndest to stop this insanity. I am not of the Catholic faith but I believe these issues go beyond any religious affiliations. We cannot sit back and hope the issue of transgender ideology, will just go away. This is another assault on our children. The lies and delusional beliefs being taught as truth and scientific fact have to stop. We have allowed the innocence of our children to be stolen for far too long.
