We’ve been keeping you up to date on efforts to seek accountability from the Waterloo Catholic District School Board for the racist and anti-Christian remarks made by Trustee Wendy Ashby. 

At the WCDSB meeting held on May 1 in which several presentations were made demanding Ashby’s resignation, another shocking testimony was made which deserves its own email.

Presenter Patricia Castillo related how she learned that her Grade 4 daughter had played the “Penis and Vagina Game” in health class, and how the game works.

The teacher selected two students at a time who stood in front of the class. Each was assigned either the word ‘penis’ or ‘vagina’, and then they took turns repeating their word until one of them laughed. 

The one who laughed was the loser of the game. 

Castillo learned about this game from her daughter during summer break. 

She raised the issue with the principal of the school in September, 2022, but so far has received no answers to her many questions, including whether or not this game is still being played, and just what the objective of the game is.

Castillo was allowed to present to the board, but it was established that no questions would be answered by the trustees at the meeting.

As you can see in the video, at one point Castillo invites trustees to raise their hands if they thought the game she described was inappropriate.

None of the trustees raised their hands. Someone from the visitors’ area can be heard to say, “Cowards!”

At another point in the presentation, Castillo is chided by the chair for deviating from the subject of her presentation, to which Castillo wryly replies that it’s interesting to see that there is at least one kind of deviance the WCDSB won’t tolerate.

Another trustee advises Castillo to reach out to her trustee to resolve problems like this one.

“Isn’t that what I’m doing right now?” is Castillo’s reply.

Radical ideologues who seek to sexualize children are taking steps that would have been unimaginable just a few short years ago. And they’re taking them right in the schools!

Patricia Castillo has demonstrated just how important it is to be aware of what’s happening in your child’s classroom, and exactly what to do when the line is crossed. 

If those entrusted with the safety of students cannot fulfill their duty, we must make it clear that we will replace them with those who will.
